Hot air balloon trip begins!

Testing my very first live blogging! my way to kl now. On the bus. It seems that a section of the penang bridge is closed. Think the driver is going to make a turn and use the other road. Happy Birthday Pei Nee ~ 2009

Happy Birthday to Pei Nee who's birthday falls on 16th March

We celebrated it at OXO cafe near Queensbay Mall Penang, the setting is nice... a lot of different styles, table layouts with couches and small pillows around.

The food that we ordered are set which comes with appetizer (mushroom soup or salad), drink, desert and main course. I must say that they are really nice, mine was chicken-something meal ^^ sorry no photos but it was really nice. Mushroom soup is especially nice and not those Campbell soup that you may find in some restaurant such as Pizza huts.... :) recommended. Mine was around RM18.90++

The mood's nice also, dim lights... playing sentimental musics.. I heard Kenny G as well.. ^^

Got her a small complimentary cake from the chef... it tasted a bit like medicine though.. :S

Tabebuia Rosea a.k.a. 风铃木 @ Penang 2009

I'm not sure if its cos I've bought my camera this year that I'm starting to pay more attention to my surrounding but there seems to be a certain type of tree (Tabebuia Rosea - originated from Mosco, North America and other countries) that blooms beautiful pink and white flowers. If seen from afar it'll be like Japan's Sakura trees. It's really really awesome.

A friend of mine told me that there's this row of trees around Bayan Lepas area, I went there on my way to gym and true... it was a remarkable sight to behold. never thought I'd see this scenery here but it's really really good. Emails started to circle prompting the same thing as well..

Soon, a bunch of us organized a short photo session during lunch time last week and snap these beauties ^^.

I went on 1 more round on saturday as I was not really satisfied with the 1st shooting as it was quite rushed. :)
These trees can also be seen around other part of Penang as well, i think Gelugor is another part of it... somewhere in front of Queensbay mall too...

P/S: Next year we'll be back to snap more of it ^^ and hopefully Penang Government can plant more of these trees along popular tourists destination such as along Gurney drive, Penang youth park, not sure if Penang Botanical Garden has these trees or not. : )

Relay for Life 2009 @ Penang Youth Park

Went to Relay for life organized in Penang Youth Park a little while ago. Relay for life is an event to raise awareness for the Malaysian Hospice.
Hospice is a type of care and a philosophy of care which focuses on the palliation of a terminally ill patient's symptoms. These symptoms can be physical, emotional, spiritual or social in nature. The concept of hospice as a place to treat the incurably ill has been evolving since the 11th century. The modern hospice began to emerge in the 17th century, but many of the foundational principles by which modern hospices operate were pioneered in the 1950s by Dame Cicely Saunders. Although the movement has met with some resistance, hospice has rapidly expanded through the United Kingdom, the United States and elsewhere. - Wikipedia

Was with Julian and Sara that time... 4pm +, lots of people... the entire event are covered on the large field where they have tape circling the entire field for the walk.

Lots of station and booths offering activities and souvenirs u could buy coupons to exchange for which goes directly to the cause.

I participated in a lucky draw.. RM5 per try cos I saw the 1# price was a netbook! :p but i got a tshirt instead.. not bad la.. RM5 for a t-shirt and donation :)

P/S: perhaps I should participate next year...

Transformers Alternity Convoy Ultimate Metal Silver version

Finally collected this baby after waited since last year. Got attracted to it's complex transformation and detailed texture and somehow accurate car model.

It's a new line from Takara Tomy which replaces their existing ones - The Binaltechs.

Alternate mode is Nissan GTR.

Car's got 4 rubber wheels with patterns and the rolls.

^^ Can also see the disc brakes from outside.

Car hood, doors and bunk opens up.

Hood reveals engine block as well.

Detailed interior with 4 seats, steering wheel and handbrakes.

Mirror's are chromed.

Complex transformation into Autobot leader - Convoy (U.S. calls him Optimus Prime)
Very well articulated but not to the extreme. Fists doesn't open up but thigh are ratchet joint which makes him much more sturdier.

Has metal frame as his backbone which makes him heavy but after transformation makes him a little bit unstable. Tend to lean to the back.

Top of head has light pipes for dramatic shinning eyes.

Hidden weapons are twin blasters folding out from passenger's seat from both arms.

Overall a very cool robot mode and alt. mode as well. :) highly recommended if you're a transformer's fan and have some $ to spare. :)
