Got this long awaited masterpiece like 1 month ago. Grimlock has always been my favorite among the Autobots and the fact that he has gotten the Masterpiece line of toy's treatment is a must buy for me. He was among some of the dinobots built by Autobots to fight the Decepticons. They're power... but not very bright. :p
It's my third Masterpiece actually, first one is Optimus Prime, 2nd Starscream and now Grimlock.
Well, I must say that this is among the easiest masterpiece to transform. But that didn't really kills the fun though but I would hope that they make it slightly more complex but anyway, its good enough for what it is.
In dinomode, he has jaws which u can bend open and press 1 button at the side of his cheek to spring the jaws close.
Some transparent plastic reveals his neck circuits and pipesYou can also pop open the top of the head and twist the transparent eyes pieces to change his eyes color, blue for normal and red for fierce mode. Neat!
He also has moveable neck that can twist some 360degrees which also connects to the part of the tail which u can twist slightly that moves the neck and thus the head around.
I'm not too sure bout this gimmick as its not that interesting and tend to cause the head to sway a bit out of place when u really want to just position him to look straight.
His dino arm claws are really sharp! kids look out, perhaps its adviceable to close the claws inward to prevent any unwanted injuries.
Both his feet are actually the arms for robot mode. Looks kinda big. nice... got gold colored claws.
One thing I would like to point out is that he comes with some accessories. Except for the gun and the mighty sword, the rest is just ..well... see for yourself.
The apron, bow tie... the tray with some nicely designed glasses... and suddenly he's a dino-waiter... zzz

And.. a helmet obviously to transfer some IQs into his little brain. :p
Transformation's is pretty straight forward for most part, the most complex portion would be the tail to fold inwards and bend a little to form his legs.
The rest is pretty much just flip out his fist from his dino foot.
Open up dino chest to reveal his robo head and shift the bottom part of dino to form robo's chest piece.
The dino head just fold to the back and viola... Grimlock in robot mode!
In robot mode, he has the flip at the back of his head to change his eye piece colors too (red and blue). His right fist's fixed in grip mode except the thumb, this is cause they built a red LED in inside which u can turn on by pressing a button at the back of his right shoulder. When u attach his transparent sword or twin laser blaster it actually causes the light to travel up and light the entire weapon in red glow. pretty neat.
Shoulder's ball jointed for some 360degrees turn, quite stiff... shows that he's very muscular indeed.
Chest piece are gold color with the Autobot insignia displays in robot mode but hidden away during dino mode. Legs are ratchet join which as we know is very stiff which allows some dynamic pose for the robot, check out some shots that shows him positioning on 1 feet.
That's just about it. I like it very much, can't wait for the next masterpiece line up. :) Thanks for reading.

Had a photowalk at Penang Burmah road with Calvin last weekend... we started at New World Park and ended there as well..
