Keracut beach outing @ 23rd Jan 2010

Never been to Keracut for a really long time, i would say around 9 years to be precise. A lot has changed, I have absolutely no memories of the previous hike and certainly the beach itself but 1 thing remained unchanged, it's a really tiring hike! or maybe I'm just too old for this? hehehee

After we have registered ourselves at the counter, the hike begins with walking and tonnes of stairs climbing.. =_=. took about 1 hour plus to get the to destination point. We stopped a few times to catch our breath and took 1 group photo.

Here it is~

Mr. 100Plus advertising for his favourite drinks again! recharge and ready to go!

Be careful of this camera man, he's not any ordinary camera man but a paparazzi in disguise. snaps pictures of unsuspecting victims and post them up on the net.. =_=

As usual, when there's nothing interesting to shoot, Ishtar is selected to be the model... :p

Which I think from this pic shows that she enjoyed it... :p

I didn't managed to snap anything nice really, i'm all tired and exhausted and super ultra thirsty... we did bought some light snacks there and a few of us actually ate them. I only ate the egg tart Yik Pei kindly bought for the gang because i'm too thirsty to eat anything and i ran out of water.. nobody sells water there... =_=

Went over to see a small tank of sea turtles... they're cute! see this little guy? when he's not swimming and just enjoy floating? he'll put 2 of his frontal fins at the back of the shell to relax... hahahahhaa..

Last but not least, I leave you with a panoramic view of the beach itself... :)

Summer Garden

Went to this restaurant at Tanjung Bungah after Keracut hike.

The settings are very nicely done in English style.

They have funny looking art hanged on the wall like this one.

The gang enjoying their food..

My mushroom soup

They even have some sort of bell on each table to ring the waitress over. Very handy.

My BBQ chicken set

The accompanying set of fruit chunks.

The food is okay overall but I tasted Ishtar's terriyaki chicken n find it to be better. Heh heh

Some outside deco

Entrace to the place

Worth a visit. It's just around the corner of the road leading up to TAR college Penang.

old folks home 病老院 visit @ 16th Jan 2010

Today I've accompanied my parents to this sort of Old Folk's home (病老院) for the senior citizens. My dad went to give some donations, while waiting I noticed this little sign board who keeps track of the total old folks living here.

I noticed that among the 3 races, Chinese old folks seems to be the primary people staying here while Malay and Indian consists of a very small portion. I'm not sure if this particular place only houses Chinese old folks or not, BUT if it's not then it's a sad case...

Why did I say so? Seems that a lot of Chinese abandoned their sick, old folks at this place more than any other race. Chinese in this country particularly, strived very hard in their work place for all sorts of stuff. Position, high salary, sense of achievements, you name it. Bigger cars, bigger houses, gadgets, etc. But all those eventually while chasing those, they have forgotten bout their parents... money is important, but there are something money can't buy... i'm just hoping that all of us won't leave our parents behind when they're old and unable to perform their daily routines.. that is when they need us the most.

Isn't it funny that parents are able to bring up a lot of kids, but when they're old none of their kids are able to take care of them willingly? I've seen a lot happened these past few years which made me realized to treasure my folks even more... time does not wait.. spend more time with them whenever you can. For the meantime, i need to fix my temper problem... =_= EQ EQ and more EQ this year...

first outing in 2010 - Air Itam dam and Kek Lok Si photoshoot

Finally went for the first ever outing with the gang for 2010.

We went for a hike to the Air Itam dam which I never been to before. The hike was longer than I expected, I thought it was short. I was tired honestly but not too hard because I do climb stair cases every single day. The victim was obviously Ah Bok but said he misread the email sent out by Ishtar that there were no hiking stated.. hahahaha. Ah Bok, time to exercise more and loose weight!

Anyway, we stayed there briefly only because WH is coming over to meet us pretty soon. We snapped around the surroundings, nothing too much as there's only a big dam with water inside, a hill... a few seats...that's all.

The photoshoot resumed when we made our way down from the dam and hike just a bit more to reach the side entrance of Kek Lok Si temple where we meet up with WH and his Nic boy.

This is the first time that I've shoot photos here during the day time. Previous one was last year during Chinese New Year where all the bright and colorful lanterns were hanged up for the occasion.
The main attraction this time was that they have finished constructing the roof top for the giant KuanYin statue. It was marvellous but when we reached there, the main gate to the statue was closed. I think they only opened it up for public during CNY or any other special events. we just stood outside to take a few snaps. Its a bit hard to get a bright shoot of the statue now because of the roof covering the statue, shielding it away from bright sun light. Even with flash lights, the pictures still looked a bit dark. I didn't shoot much really, never mind i'll come back again next time during CNY :)

Here you go, hope you guys enjoyed this series. Thanks!
