complains

Depends on how you look at this. First time when I saw this, it was very funny... especially the last one on the lower right. But then when I read again for the second time, you will feel that in some ways, we are part of these as well isn't it?

Most people loved to complain. Either regarding their lives, their job, their partner, family, pets. If you want, you could literally complain out of every single situation, like the one shown above. But if you think of it another way, most things that we complained, aren't even worth complaining in the first place. We made stuff up for us to complain, hence we're not happy.

If we could focus our energy into something more positive, our lives would be greatly enriched. Think of it, right at this moment, you must have a healthy body and mind, able to breathe normally and read this post. Isn't that enough to be thankful for? There are countless of people in this world currently living at the verge of their live. Some might not even take their next breath of air at all.

Let's learn together to appreciate life's little treasures that we have within us and stop chasing external means for satisfaction or happiness. It should come from within. This, includes me.

slow down

For a while now, we have been living in a fast pace society, everything demands fast reaction, quick turn around, heck, even when we walk (at least I do), I went to speed up to reach my destination.

Well, not anymore, at least not now. I'm walking almost daily, around at least 30mins around the neighborhood. Since I'm not in any particular hurry (except when I want to avoid the chilling wind at night now that it's winter), I just enjoy the slower pace in life. Listening to some soft music sometimes, or just generally walk and look at the surroundings.

Hence, I've spotted a lot of nice flowers out in the wild. Near the walkway, at people's garden near the pathway, etc.

It's good to take notice of these little things, we don't have to pick them up to own them, just by looking at them or at most, snap a photo or two and keep it online and share it with friends and family, that's more than enough.

放慢脚步,看看花儿,感受周边的色彩。

Japanese garden?

Dropped mum nearby and while waiting, snapped a few shots near a so called "Japanese garden".

Tranquility, sure there was sunlight but shortly after... dark clouds were all over us. It's soothing and a bit cooling with breeze here and there. I went and sat down on a swing.

It daunts on me how simple happiness and relaxation can be at times. No need expensive gadgets, no need fancy toys. Just simple, pure, joy. Just like what I used to play with when I was a kid. Children these days grew up with not so conventional entertainment anymore. iPad, smartphones, etc.

It's best to preserve some balance.

busy busy year end 2010

Well, I know I've been busy. busy with my job mainly.. everyone (most) people involved in the project are... most were not spared. Busy day, busy night, well just plain busy that's all.

I knew that I haven't post anything in my blog lately, but it was kinda shocking when I see the last post was early Oct. wow, just wow, almost 2 full months have I not posted anything. This blog to me is like a journal. Keeping track of my life, happenings. A few more stuff has happened during this 2 months and they're not just work though, but life.

I've just realized how much the current job has taken up my free time, mind and energy that I'm almost exhausted everytime I got back home with little to no energy left to do the stuff I liked.

Hopefully 2011 turned out to be a better year in terms of work-life balance. Let's see how I juggle my time in the upcoming year. :)

Until then, I'll do slowly post back some photos I've taken during this past 2 months, stay tuned.

old folks home 病老院 visit @ 16th Jan 2010

Today I've accompanied my parents to this sort of Old Folk's home (病老院) for the senior citizens. My dad went to give some donations, while waiting I noticed this little sign board who keeps track of the total old folks living here.

I noticed that among the 3 races, Chinese old folks seems to be the primary people staying here while Malay and Indian consists of a very small portion. I'm not sure if this particular place only houses Chinese old folks or not, BUT if it's not then it's a sad case...

Why did I say so? Seems that a lot of Chinese abandoned their sick, old folks at this place more than any other race. Chinese in this country particularly, strived very hard in their work place for all sorts of stuff. Position, high salary, sense of achievements, you name it. Bigger cars, bigger houses, gadgets, etc. But all those eventually while chasing those, they have forgotten bout their parents... money is important, but there are something money can't buy... i'm just hoping that all of us won't leave our parents behind when they're old and unable to perform their daily routines.. that is when they need us the most.

Isn't it funny that parents are able to bring up a lot of kids, but when they're old none of their kids are able to take care of them willingly? I've seen a lot happened these past few years which made me realized to treasure my folks even more... time does not wait.. spend more time with them whenever you can. For the meantime, i need to fix my temper problem... =_= EQ EQ and more EQ this year...

Paint...and paint and paint...

Actually, apologize for the lack of post this week cos i'm hard at work for my 2nd painting piece. yea... first one was the "battle fish" a few posts ago.. and now i'm attempting at my 2nd try. Hopefully it turned out to be good. I began work late at night last Saturday and now i'm around 75% completion.

Every morning when I wake up...i'll take another look at my work in progress.. it kinda energizes me quite a bit... seeing the fact that i'm doing something i like and later on able to share it with all my friends out there... really makes it worthwhile and better instead of traditionally i would just sketch in my book and keep.

Have you ever do anything that you can share with ppl out there that makes u look forward to the next morning when you wake up?

Anyway, will post up my work here very soon.. stay tuned. ;)

Negative energy

WARNING! do not read if you dun want such negative post to affect your weekend in anyway, else pls proceed...

Lately I felt more n more negative energies flowing around office area, well at least around my team. I'm not sure what caused this, perhaps it's only my imagination.. but then I sense something's wrong. Most of the team mates rushing for 1 major project which they had been hard at work for quite some time.. and by hard i mean really hard.. good job guys.

And around the office there's generally 3 types of people i can see :-
1) HARDCORE - Will stop at nothing and will do everything to get things done.. mean, iron-fist ruling involved.
2) LAZY - Likes to push things around, delay things, play taichi and show you the sleepy face and test your patience.. in short. A stone.
3) NORMAL - Will work and finish up tasks at hand or at the very least do their best to get things done and not to act in either one of the 1st or 2nd category.

Well, I would say I'm under the 3rd category.. hey.. all of the people who work around me can judge me to see if u'd agree okay?

My principle is quite simple, u give me work, i do my best to complete them. But there are a "certain individual" who likes to talk back bout you... at your back.. I've been complaint a lot. Actually every since the 3rd day I've been here, me and PNee have both been complained a lot of times.. about all sort of things... talk too loud, talk non work related stuff, open facebook during work.. and for the record, i didnt open up facebook during work, it could probably be that 1 time that people sent me link in email about their wedding video and it happened to be in facebook and i've clicked that link during work.. okay..so that's my fault.. and lately, i've got to know that "someone" complained i talked rudely on the phone with my China users. Wow.. just Wow... u know what? I could give that "someone" those users that i'm dealing with all this while.. with their names and phone extension numbers.. and "someone" can contact them directly 1 by 1 and asked them if i did talk to them rudely or not? if yes, I apologize immediately in front of everyone to that "someone"... and if not? well, could that "someone" do the same? say sorry to me in front of everyone else? and promise me never ever ever the repeat that same thing again either to me or anyone else? enough with the backstabbing or power exerting.

Rulling with iron fist during work just because your position is higher than us will only make people afraid of you, sick of you, and temporily... of cos u get things done.. but in the long run? wow... u'd make a lot of enemies... congrats. I still think the kinder approach will earn u respect and people or subordinates will be more than willing to go that extra miles for you... any given day. I'm not asking "someone" to be sissy or talk softly..certainly no.. but i will not tolerate barbaric approach. My dad is a manager, and as i grew up.. i heard stories of how he treated his subordinates.. of cos at times with the approach i've stated above. But as i came to this society and work under certain bosses, i knew this approach is not going to work. I told my dad to change himself... slowly but surely... he did. This you can save yourself the anger.. which will lead to boiling blood pressure shooting high up the sky which can lead to a lot of health problem like heart attack... and 2nd of all.. people will respect you if you put yourself at the same level as them and work together... not above them.

Ok so up till this point, i have no idea who that "someone" was.. i can only make certain guesses... either MsA or MsB. fine... i can't change them... but i can change myself.. or i can change my surroundings..

Sorry for venting that out of my chest, it feels better. And at times like this, it's good to have some nice pair of ears beside you. thanks to some of my friends for their comforting and enlightening words. :)

P/S: I'll get back to my "normal" posts after this.. hahahahha. sorry n thanks for bearing with me...

Strange dream...

I had a strange dream last nite. Picture this, anyone seen reality shows? e.g. Survivors, Amazing race, American Idols, etc.. u get the idea, a show based on real life contestant..

I was thrown into a reality show... where by the winner has to be the only one standing.. lol meaning each of us has to kill each other to proceed to next round.... think its elimination based.
say, 30 ppl enter... 1st round... 15 ppl leave. when the killing left only that number of ppl the current round ends...
I was very frightened, I had this knife, small.. but sharp looking.. seeing that either they kill me or i kill them b4 they do.. i went around and poke ppl to death.. LOL.... scary man.. -_-!!!

Eventually.. I made it into the final round.. guess what? from 30ppl -> 15 -> 7 (u wont have 7.5 ppl now do u?) then eventually just 2...

Before the final round begins, I paused for a moment... and thought how stupid i was...r u kidding me? its either me dead or the other dude.. i should have quit on the previous rounds... whoever quit gets to walk away alive i think..

Anyway, i forgot the ending... can't really recall.. i think i won.. :p Shortly after this.. I appeared in some sort of bungallow... where a lot of ppl are fighting each other... guns are shooting all over the place. I was running though but eventually some sort of deities appeared in front of me... he chanted some words.. (%$$@#$#$@) and boom! My hands are glowing... see pic.

I can almost feel the power within my fists... my palms.. the veins... glows bright yellow.. this immediately reminded me of DragonBalls.. LOL... i tested opening my palms and thrusting them out and immediately a fireball was shot out from both my palms and smashed a vase to pieces!

woo hoo! i got power~ and i went around and shoot some ppl.. they didnt die violently though, just flew and hit the wall...and just fell down unconcious.. :p

and soon.. the cruel sound of my alarm clock woke me up... I wanna say that I'm not that violent mia ppl.. hahahaha... perhaps it's cos i'm too tired. :p

Do u dreamt any weird dreams lately? mind sharing here ar?.. hahahhahaha

Back

work work.. finally, went back to my cubicle after 11days of absence.. from my long vacation that is.

I was very reluctant to go back to work.. but hey.. should feel thankful right? at times like this, its good that u have a place to go to earn some $$$. Its nice to see some familiar faces back again, remember last time during secondary or even primary schooling time... its always nice to see your friends back again especially before form 4 because I still haven't get my motorbike license. Going out with friends involved meeting up at a specific place either by bus, parent fetch or even no.11 bus (u know what no.11 bus right?). Those were the good ol days... and besides... no cellphone at that time, if your friends don't show up on time.. u'll keep wondering where those fan cheongs are..

:) thing's changed, nowadays most youngsters have cellphones at early stage.. it has become some sort of a necessity already. I bet next time every kid will carry a PDA at the very least.

Let's see what the future holds shall we?

P/S: how's your feeling going back to work after a vacation? thrillin'? laziness?

Changes

Can't help but noticed that Georgetown's traffic has got worsen... hmm, the last time I check it was jam.. but not like this. let's see, Christmas is over... well I tell myself perhaps ppl are still flooding the street to rush for year end bargain from Christmas celebration that I'm sure still going on now. hmmm... terrible, you know it's Jam packed even when motorists are having difficulties traversing along the road.

Previously when government announced the petrol price increase to a drastic 2.8 per litre, this caused a domino effect on the rest of the stuff.. including food. Tom Yam I used to eat shot up from RM4 to RM5... I can only think of this first cos these are the one I can remember which shocked me when they replaced the price tag.. and you know it's pricey even when the petrol price has been brought down quite a notch and the food price still remained at the high range.

Received a few friend's and relative's invitation to their weddings, wow... everyone is moving towards the next stage in their life... marriage! last time I used to hang out with my cousins a lot, we grew up together, some other friends... used to go out quite frequently together.. almost daily during high school days... are no where to be seen as each of them have their own family right now or moved out from the Island. you know they've moved on to the next stage in their life when your phone doesn't ring or sms which came in are not from those people...gotta miss those moments.. :)

I used to play my Lego collection my dad bought for me and some which I have accumulated throughout the years... before you lable me as childish for playing LEGO, mind you it has helped train me to what I am today... a teenie meenie more creative have I not been playing with it when I was a child. I still occasionally buy a few of those small sets but not that frequent anymore.. I combined them together in hope to have more building blocks for a much more complex creation... but when almost each time I take the box out in hope to create something... my mind would get lost... scrambling through the parts... not knowing what to assemble.. how to assemble anymore... gosh... I know it's not big deal... it's just another collectibles... but.. some part of me felt missing.. and I know I've slowly moved on...away from these stuff as day goes by... (getting old liao. =p)

Each day no matter afternoon or at night, I'm sweating my shirt off... I took like 3 to 4 times bathe each day... its warm day and night. you know something's really wrong with our earth given the polution we're creating each day.

some change is good while others are bad... what changes have u witness these days?

match

A while ago I heard a short story on the radio, its worth a sharing. It goes like this ...

A match stick worth only a few cents, probably not even 1 cent.
However, a house or a building is probably worth a few thousand over.

But a match stick that light up could potentially destroy the building that worth a few hundred thousand times more than it.

Put it this way, no matter how talented or good a person is... if he failed just once to control himself and said out hurtful words or did regrettable actions... his image will be forever tarnished.

Everyone of us has a kind of match sticks... can you control yours?

Composition

small cute donkey on top of my monitor

Well, been having holidays for 5 days straight. With my first camera on hand and plenty of time to spare... what should I do? snapping of course! Actually been asking Calvin to go along new Jelutong Express way to snap some sun rise picture but our plan has so far been thwarted by bad weather and also time constraint as some of the day I need to fetch my mum to work in the morning.

Never mind, we'll have some more time hopefully on Sunday morning. 1 thing I notice that I need to learn to handle is the composition of a photo. So far a lot of my photos looked like snapshots, composition is needed to bring style to a picture, to show more expression in an artistic way. I'll work on that more... checking our more photos on blogs.

Really, there's a lot of talented ppl out there...

Dillema

My phone's battery are dying... have been using this phone for the past 2.5 years. Since this is a rare brand and model, nobody seems to carry the battery around here. Well actually I've bought the phone in KL... perhaps I should look there.

Nokia - N82

Anyway, went to check out some of the phones online and also went to shops and ask around price. Actually I was hoping that my new phone will have GPS feature and or 3G connectivity. Camera if good ones also a plus... which leads me to Nokia's N82. The price tag for this is around RM1.5k for original version... still quite expensive to me, I've never bought any phone that's more than RM1.2k so far...but then again its feature loaded.... almost like a multimedia computer and its camera is among the best among its competition.

Sony Ericsson - k770i

If I were to go for a slightly cheaper medium end phone, the one that caught my eye was Sony Ericsson's k770i. The one with no joystick for their series as I always heard joysticks usually are the first piece that broke down. I think it looks good... has a 3.2mega pixel camera with LED flash and a front camera for 3G calls. It's priced around RM650 for AP set (third party warranty).

Since when does buying a phone becomes such a difficult choice? well, at least it's difficult for me, I'm wrestling the features I want vs my budget... I guess I better hold on first, wait for further price drop and get the one I wanted without paying for premium price.... hahaha, I better start carrying the charger with me everywhere I go... and charge whenever I can.

Peace~

Sacrifice

How far would you go for your love ones? In this case, 1 Vietnamese guy age 22 sold off one of his kidney to fund for his wedding. According to the news, he sold off one of his kidney for RM9600 so that he could organize a wedding with his girlfriend who is now several months pregnant.

At first my initial impression was this is a sad case and how come that guy could not just wait for a little while more or borrow some money from his parents? Guess everyone of us has some hidden stories that might be best kept secret. I feel sorry for him and his family but looking at the positive side, he's brave. He dares to sell his kidney to wed his girlfriend... but sadly it took his life in exchange.

Well, to me is that there could possibly be more than 1 solution to a problem at times. Maybe his culture or his principle kept him from waiting any longer or borrowing $ from other people.

Makes us wonder how far would we ever go for our love ones...

Holding door

Being courtesy isn't that hard to do... I'm beginning to see a 'trend' at my work place. Example, when you're walking towards a door, the person is in front of you... just a few meters away, very close...and when they passed through the door, they didn't even bother to hold the door for you but just let go of their hand off the door and walked straight in.

It's quite annoying to see this as I believe this more or less shows how a person thinks dun you agree?

For me, once I've enter... I'll turn slightly back to see if anyone's approaching. If they're only a few more steps to the door, I'll either hold the door or push it to a 90degrees angle to have it opened for them cos some people might be carrying water bottles with one hand and probably hand bag with the other.

It's very simple act to do which brings some nice feelings for other people. Some said thank you for me too. Being polite to each other lifts up your spirits for the day.

For those that didn't have this habit, do it from now onwards. Make this a better place. :) I'm sure a lot of people in leading countries have nice habits and this being one of them.

Change your thoughts and the world changes with you.

Road Stuntman/woman

I was riding on my bike just now as I went out... not surprisingly as we all know, 'some' of the drivers in our country exhibits 'nice' manners throughout the road. Some were seen speeding, some crawling, some doesn't know where they were heading and there's some... I like to categorized these as the stuntman or woman of the road. They are quite eligible to be candidates of Hollywood stunt personnel and may even rival some rookie stunt freshies.

Speaking of which I saw the traffic lights turned red and there was 1 car who sped through it while it turned red...and you know what, 1 second behind that car, another car followed! speedily accelerated passed the cross junction into his 'safety' side pass the traffic light. WoW!... talk about rush hour... I always like to imagine these guys as those who were either rushing to toilet (in a polite manner) or in a slightly more sarcastic way as a old colleague would say ... rushing to change their birth certificate number (hope u guys get the meaning ; ) ...)

A few moments later, I've witness a new level of stunt I have never seen before on the road... I'll show it to you.. take a look at this...

Incredible isn't it? I mean, able to hold the infant with one hand and steer the bike with another? Isn't human wonderful? multi-tasking... only in her example... this is incredibly stupid. Endangering her own life and also her baby. WoW... I salute her.

There you have it folks... try not to do this or worse on the road... be considerate. : )
