Threading the streets at Wheelers Hill

It's winter now, and it's very cold these few days. Today there are sun, and standing under it, one can still feel the heat.

But when the wind blows... it chills up into your soul.

Not bad for a walk and snap, at least the air is clean and fresh...

can you see the moon?

my favorite shot of the day
Also, updated my blog layout. hope this is better... :)

Cafes around Georgetown Penang - mini tour with Danboard - part 2

So we resumed our trip around cafes the other day, evening session that is.

Covered 4 cafes in total as follows. Honestly there are still many more cafes around Georgetown that we haven't covered, that would have to be next time.

But one thing's for sure, want to nab that elusive mushroom soup from behind 50 if possible...

pepper and salt

my fried chicken with cheese, the wedges were nice too, portion wise it's moderate

this table lamp was not turned on, had to flip on the switch for this photo

old old old radio... I don't think it's functioning anymore
dusty knob

funny thing, this sign was flipped to closed earlier, had to clarify with the waitress that they are indeed still open during that time, 7:30pm. The thing is, this place is like a guest house on top with a simple dining area below that serves food to guest and outside customer as well
so we then walk a cross a street to reach Lebuh Cintra, just near Love lane to Behind 50 cafe, it's just a make shift looking cafe by the small road. Wanted to try their signature mush room soup as you can see from the photo above, but guess what? It was sold out, they open around 6pm, we were there close to 9pm. Sheesh, they said that they only can serve around 20+ bowls per day, so I guess we have to go earlier next time.

another cafe, this is Eighty tree cafe, the shop is located at a terrace shop lot, small but nicely decorated. Warm and fuzzy feel as you can see.

surprisingly, I've ordered this ham and egg toast, it was very very very nice! highly recommended, it's crunchy enough and the half boiled egg splashed on top is just awesome!

mushroom soup, this time at Love bites, just beside Pik Nik at Nagore road,  behind Penang Plaza.
I ordered hot aloe vera drink, first time I've tasted aloe vera like this and I've gotta say, it smells really good. Definitely a place to revisit but the deco is a bit lovey dovey for some, otherwise, it's acceptable.

Cafes around Georgetown Penang - mini tour with Danboard - part 1

Well, thought about this neat idea of touring as many nice cafes in Georgetown as possible, we didn't finish in 1 day, had to split to two, some did not open on Mon - Wed, some only open at the evening hour.

But in all, these are just short trips to get to know where the exact location are and some of the nice food/drinks they serve.

Didn't put up details but I'm pretty sure it's just a Google away.

Let me guide you through with Danboard and gang from the photos below... and if you could, give them a try. :)

first stop lighthouse coffee, there's a board at the side of the entrance, you can ask for post it note and write stuff n paste  it there, as long as you don't cover up their logo

hey, this isn't right?

lol... Doraemon's ears gone

say cheese, limited edition Canon 1D Mark III I think

our post it note! hopefully it's still around next year

wheeeeeee~

coffee bean, yummy
the visit to The Twelve Cups at Beach street
the full casts
interesting deco right outside the main door
don't be fooled, it's a cafe inside
another section on top, only opens if it's full downstairs, well they turn on the lights so that we can visit around

I'm the strongest piece!
it says only applicable to 55kg and below, else your butt will hurt...

this is at the back of China house, there's a large open section with a small pool with fishies inside...
under the natural spotlight

fruit juice, tastes so so
someone took a dip before this photo, can guess which one?

there's a small gallery of coffee factory at the side of Cafe 55, can take a look

mugshot of Danboard, he's ..well.. just a few inches tall

I'm not for sale, but it's cool inside here

bagel preparation
