I saw this big big patch of cloud hanging over at the sky after shutterbug's class the other day. Can't resists it. I just love shooting skies and quite excited to see such big patch of cloud so near... :)

The detour

On the outing the other day, there were some detour going on b4 the actual main event. First, we went to grab my new spec! finally...after 4 - 5 years.. I finally changed a new pair.

Wanna recommend "The World Optical Company" to you guys who wished to make a new spec out there.

The optician uncle - Mr. Lam was very friendly and nice not to mention the other lady who introduced me to the frames first :)

For those who dunno where this is, it's just opposite of the Cititel Hotel Penang on the small road there. Just walk straight up and it should be on your right corner. :) hmmm..seems that the photo might be a little misleading... there appears to be a modern hotel on top of it... LOL...

Next, we accompany Calvin to take his long overdue certificate from Equator college. Congratz Calvin!

Saw this too.. actually the rock tiles caught my attention... I didn't realize it was this Jail/Hell japanese restaurant that someone forwarded as email a while ago.

Perhaps we could try it out someday...

Party in the Park + Gossip Penang 2009

Well, after sunrise shoot we're heading out for breakfast and also main event for our shooting today.

Ate roti bakar and nasi lemak at the coffee shop at Campbell street with Calvin and ah Bok. Introduced them to this place as they never been here b4. My dad brought me here a few years ago.

They have nice toasted bread under the hot charcoal underneath the stimming boiling water.

Met up with Weng Hong and his son - Nic at Penang Timesquare where the party in the park event was suppose to be held. We walked around... snapped some photos... but can't locate the event anywhere at all.

Disappointed, we head on to Gossip Penang 2009 event at Esplanade. There again, we saw the stages being setup right beside the big field on the road beside City Hall. But, nobody was there... I saw a few crews on standby but no audience are visible anywhere.. we're only a few minutes away from 11am which the first event is starting... uuh.h.. Penangites are late.

sheesh.. not wanting to wait anymore we just head to Prangin mall and eat. Man, we should just go to events in the middle of the day or late at night next time... no need to go so early. :p

Sunrise shooting - eGate seafront @ 28th Feb 2009

Went to shoot sunrise again with Calvin after a few failed attempts where either it rained or it was too foggy that we couldn't even get the see the sun at all.... :)

Today our spot was opposite of eGate there at the seaside facing Butterworth. Reached quite early and scouted around for some suitable spots. Tracked a few rocks here and there just to get closer to the seaside as we could.

There's are the results. : ) I'm moderately satisfied. (sun slowly rises up...)


Calvin even uses his brother's Nikon point and shoot camera just to show that behind nice photos lies a good photographer and lesser about his/her gears. :)

Even took a pano shots b4 we left.
