Appreciation dinner - Hai Boey Seafood Restaurant

I've been treated to a lovely seafood dinner at Hai Boey seafood restaurant around Batu Maung there. It was quite a distance from our company but hey, I'm not the driver... just a guest. haha, no complaints there. Took us a while to figure out the place after a loss by following the sign board. But we got to the place eventually after a bit of guidance.

Normally seafood restaurants around Penang are located just beside seashore and this is not exception. Took some photos around the area while waiting for others and the meal to arrive.

Hmmm, the prawn called "heh gor" in hokkien. Let's see... 1 for RM28, not something I'll eat every now and then

Err, if not mistaken this is the cucumber stuffed with some kinda meat or something, excuse me... not a big fan, just put 1 into my mouth and forgotten bout it =_=!

Ahh, any guess what these are? probably not cos the pic's quite small. It's the "heh gor" prawns worth RM28 per piece I showed above. cut in little chunks... the expensive dish! taste okay cos not really interested in it

Next comes the fish, in curry... sorry again, I didn't really bothered with the name... just show u guys the clay pot it was in, this is the lower part of the fish as according to the staff, the fish was too big to be put into a single pot so we gotta have it splitted up to 2 pots

This is the "pai kut ong" a.k.a. pork rib cooked in sweet sauce, the meat was quite tender

ahhh, the main dish of any seafood outing! the Crabs... crabs are served into 2 plates of 1 natural flavour and 1 more in Thai sauce

Ppersonally I prefer Thai sauce cos it gets rid of the smelly flavour but then again you can't really taste the 'natural/smelliness' of the crab cooked in Thai sauce

Vegetable, plain and simple

Hor fun.... the largest plate ever served to me... of cos I gave it a pass as I didn't like eating it so can't really comment on the taste but the rest of the people did finish most of the plate somehow so I guess its probably good

P/S: Felicia actually help me took the last photo and it appears a bit dark as my phone's camera has no flash and later on we did shot a nicer one which I won't post here but on my facebook later on. Ooops.. I thought it was...

Just the other day, I was logging in my facebook account. I saw there's 1 guy on the "ppl whom you may know" panel and the name sounded familiar. I clicked in to view the profile. I almost did add that person onto my friend list but a further check on the profile picture albums revealed otherwise. hmmmm, this happened virtually though.

Have you ever mistaken someone for another person? Well, I've only did this once in my life so far and it's pretty much embrassing. I could still recall, it was during my primary school days. On one of the weekdays, after class as I was walking towards my school bus, I saw a familiar person's back. I thought it was my former class mate and I called out her name... and ouch, when she turned to me it was another girl.. my gosh.. I was very shy..and too shy to admit my mistake at that time, guess what I did? I pretend to continue shouting that person's name and walked pass her... LOL! hope she'll not think that I mistaken her for another person... WoW! that was one of the embarassing moments in my life. After that I took extra caution to identify people... hehehehe

Sacrifice

How far would you go for your love ones? In this case, 1 Vietnamese guy age 22 sold off one of his kidney to fund for his wedding. According to the news, he sold off one of his kidney for RM9600 so that he could organize a wedding with his girlfriend who is now several months pregnant.

At first my initial impression was this is a sad case and how come that guy could not just wait for a little while more or borrow some money from his parents? Guess everyone of us has some hidden stories that might be best kept secret. I feel sorry for him and his family but looking at the positive side, he's brave. He dares to sell his kidney to wed his girlfriend... but sadly it took his life in exchange.

Well, to me is that there could possibly be more than 1 solution to a problem at times. Maybe his culture or his principle kept him from waiting any longer or borrowing $ from other people.

Makes us wonder how far would we ever go for our love ones...

988 outdoor broadcast

Anyone here witness radio's station's outdoor broadcasting before? I for one didn't, I've heard about 988FM djs mentioned about this yesterday and since I'm working I gave it a miss.

Today I kinda passed the area and with my curiosity I crossed the road from Prangin Mall to the opposite site which is Komtar's area.

The little 'box' of mobile broadcasting studio was quite small, initially I thought they will have a tent setup and the djs will be seated there below the shade to do the broadcasting but hey, they have this kinda small but neat looking mobile studio.

I'm also curious of one thing, whether the broadcast was really 'live' or not, meaning whatever that is said is actually aired immediately. So as I emerged from the car park, I tuned in my radio and heard their voices, as I approached the scene I can hear their speakers broadcasting the show also.

I still couldn't really tell if it's real time cos I think they will have a 'safe' 1 or 2 minutes or probably more in case listeners who called in their respective shows said something that cannot be broadcasted to the listeners.

Walked to the back of the station to snap up a picture. The have the Chinese word saying "Ha! you dunno? tune in to 988FM lets you know more".

I've been listening to their show for almost like half a year now and I must say it's kinda good. FM94.5 for Penang. Those who are interested can check them out, the morning shows have lots of wonderful topic like they'll pick forumers who posted their relationship problems and discuss on it and also another part would be some inspirational stories and how to survive in your job.

Later on they even invited Penang's Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng to their show too but that time I was already at home so didn't get to see him. That's all for this round...

P/S: they look kinda like er... weird... being watched inside a box by pedestrians... hahaha.
